Easter, Easter, Easter... O & Easter

WOWZAS! Is all I can say about Easter. For only being 4 days into April there sure has been lot of Easter going on in the last couple weeks.
Kev had to work on Saturday night and since Poppy was at the Priesthood session of Conference Granny came over to visit and stayed long enough to do a little egg coloring.

I'm not going to lie. I felt kind of bad Kev was not here. He (unlike myself) takes egg coloring VERY seriously so we were sad he missed out. He was so happy when he got home that night to see we had still colored eggs.

The kids loved waking up and finding there hidden baskets and eggs. And the Easter bunny sometimes thinks the kids are teenagers and hides these items so they finally find them around noon.

Here is a little "pre" Easter preview. I personally think Easter gets out of hand. A little to much always going on. But in the end it's all time spent with family and the kids love every minute of it. I do however take ever opportunity to ask my kids "Why do we celebrate Easter?" to get this response "Because Jesus died for us and then he was Resurrected" O how happy it makes me to know that my kids do understand why we celebrate Easter. And as they get older they understand so much more of the love there Savior has for them.

First there was Grandma Worthington's annual Easter egg hunt which consists of mostly great grandchildren (I think all but 1 are greats). The kids have so much fun at Grandma W's and love that she has this Easter egg hunt.

Then there is Grandma and Grandpa Carters Easter party. Mary has made her Easter party so much fun for all of us. This is the 4th year we have had the "Egg Bashing Contest" This is where 2 people sit across from each other at the table and 1,2,3 ROLL. When the eggs collides one of those eggs will crack. If its your egg your OUT. The other person is still in for the win. Last persons egg who has never cracked is the ....

WINNER! Yep that would be Cole this year. He was sooooo excited. Only one can be lucky enough to receive such a rockin trophy to take home and display ALL year. This is the 3rd time we have had this awesome privilege. Sorry to brag but wouldn't you if you had this fine trophy at your house?

All the Carter grand kids except for Cody.

And last but definalty not least Moms and Dads Easter party Ho down (thought that sounded catchy).

After a yummy dinner we get right into our BIG PRIZE games. This year my parents got there games off of the T.V. show Minute to Win It. There were 7 games total. Kev and I did not do well this year. Winning 1 out of the 7 games what can we say? I guess not much other than we did pretty bad huh. Non the less what a blast! As every year is. We still came away with itunes, Walmart, and Target gift cards. Riley and Jenny took 1st, and Shawn and Brooke 2nd.

Here i am doing the "Elephant March" (the only game won for our team..GO SHAR) You have to knock down 8 gatorade bottles never crossing the line or using your hands. Best time wins.

Kev was not quiet on his game this year. NO i will not take all the blame. I count on him to bring in the winnings. The puzzle game that he lost WHAT the heck! Kev is a master puzzle-men. He should not have lost . I will let this slide though since it is only a game...right??? :)

See how much fun we had even if were losing.

My Mom and Dad also do a kids and adult Easter egg hunt. This year because of the weather it was inside. The kids still had a blast.

Hadlie and Delany after there winnings. Cole and Rhett both found the "Big money" eggs which had a $5 bill in them. $1 bills were in the rest.

I swear my Dad is a professional egg hider. He was slightly disappointed this year because of the weather and having to hold the hunt inside. Yet still at the end of the game we still couldn't find that LAST egg that was so nicely hidden. Shawn was the finder of the egg inside and at the bottom of the Kleenex box. Way to go Shawn.

  1. $1 Easter eggs?! Wow, I'm crashing your parents' party next year. Love the elephant mask, by the way.
